The Mind & Heart Behind Dilli Wali Rangat

Founder of Dilli Wali Rangat
"At 10 years old, while other kids were playing games, I was organizing an entire colony Mela. That night taught me how food and celebration can bring a whole community together—a lesson that still guides every plate we serve today."

What began as a childhood passion for bringing people together through food eventually became a lifelong journey through hospitality, aviation, international events, and Indian culinary traditions.

At the heart of Dilli Wali Rangat is a simple belief: great food is not only about taste. It is about people, memories, celebration, warmth, and the feeling of being welcomed.

1986: The Mela That Changed Everything

It all started with an audacious idea in the winter of 1986.

At just ten years old, I conceptualized and brought to life a Diwali Mela in our Delhi colony. I didn't just dream it up—I went door-to-door, rallying local families, shopkeepers from nearby markets, and kids from neighboring colonies to join in.

I arranged the fairy lights, brought together food stalls with piping-hot samosas and tea, and turned an ordinary neighborhood street into a glowing hub of celebration.

That night changed my life. Overnight, I became the kid everyone knew—not because I sought the spotlight, but because I had created a place where everyone felt happy, connected, and fed.

It taught me leadership, social maturity, and the pure joy of hosting long before I ever understood the word "business."

Global Mastery: Dubai, Canada & Royal Hospitality

While my heart remained rooted in the flavors of Old Delhi, my professional journey took me to the highest levels of international hospitality and senior aviation management.

For 14 years in Dubai, I held senior aviation positions where I conceptualized and executed over 700 high-profile events.

Managing catering and event design across 14+ different nationalities—including grand state banquets and royal events for up to 12,000+ guests for the Sheikh— demanded flawless operational precision, deep cultural empathy, and uncompromising food standards.

Following my tenure in Dubai and a period refining hospitality insights in Canada, I returned home to India with a singular vision: to pair world-class international catering standards with the warm, nostalgic, and authentic soul of Old Delhi dining.
